What We Collect
takehome is designed to collect as little data as possible. Here's exactly what happens when you use the app:
- Payroll numbers you enter manually (hourly rate, hours, deductions)
- Financial figures extracted from your paystub (gross pay, net pay, tax amounts)
- App preferences and settings
- Your name, Social Security Number (SSN), or address
- Your employer's name or address
- Your paystub image (it is not stored by takehome after processing)
- Your location
- Any account or login information
How Paystub Scanning Works
When you scan a paystub, the following process occurs:
- Your paystub image is temporarily transmitted to our secure proxy server and then to Anthropic's AI API for analysis.
- The AI extracts only financial numbers — hourly rate, gross pay, net pay, and tax deductions.
- Personal identifying information (name, SSN, address) is explicitly excluded from extraction.
- takehome does not store your paystub image after processing is complete. However, please note that transmission occurs through Anthropic's API infrastructure, which is governed by Anthropic's own privacy policy.
- Only the extracted financial numbers are saved — locally on your device.
Third-Party Services
takehome uses the following third-party service:
Used to analyze paystub images. Images are transmitted for processing purposes only. Under Anthropic's API usage policy, submitted content is not used for model training. Anthropic maintains industry-standard security practices and provides equivalent data protection for information processed through its API.
